Sunrise of Braintree, the second project on which Erland collaborated with Sunrise Senior Living and Beery Rio Architects, was designed in a craftsman style to blend with the surrounding New England architecture. The site required a high, curved retaining wall system, which was then surrounded by walking paths for the residents. The 3-story assisted living facility includes 79 residential units, each featuring custom finishes for a “homelike” environment and an emergency response system that gives residents the ability to call for Sunrise staff 24 hours a day. Amenities include a recreation area, private and common dining areas, a lounge, and a beauty/ barber shop.
