Erland’s second design/build project for research-based pharmaceutical company Sunovion, this new 4-story office building features executive level finishes like cherry wood paneling throughout the lobby; granite countertops; 3-Form glass boxes; stainless steel ornamental handrails; a glass block bridge in the atrium lobby; and aluminum door frames with side light “interior windows.” Serving as Sunovion’s sales and marketing headquarters, the building includes the corporate data center. After construction began, a 182ft connector bridge linking the new building to the existing headquarters building was added to the scope. This fully-enclosed, climate-controlled pedestrian bridge spans protected wetlands between the buildings and compensates for an elevation change while meeting ADA guidelines.
