Middlesex School has once again selected Erland, in partnership with HCM, to renovate Orr Gym and transform a portion of the historic facility into a new Wellness Center. The project represents the next phase of the School’s ongoing investment in student wellbeing and follows the successful completion of Middlesex’s state-of-the-art Athletic Field House, further enhancing the campus experience for current and future students. The renovation will create a centralized hub for student health and wellness services, featuring counseling offices, treatment and examination spaces, dedicated wellness support areas, and short term observation accommodations. The project also includes significant interior upgrades, including new finishes, accessibility improvements, and enhancements to the building’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and life safety systems to support the facility’s new programmatic needs. Located within an active campus environment, the work will require thoughtful planning and close coordination with Middlesex School to minimize disruption to daily operations. Erland will work collaboratively with the School and design team to safely execute the renovation while preserving the character of the existing building and maintaining uninterrupted access to surrounding campus facilities. This project reflects the strength of Erland’s longstanding partnership with Middlesex School and our shared commitment to creating spaces that support student growth, health, and success.
