Erland fit out the new U.S. Corporate Headquarters for Mycronic – a hightech Swedish public company and creator of world-leading production equipment for the electronics assembly, display and packaging industries. Mycronic had three different locations in Massachusetts, with varying lease end dates, and consolidated their operations into this new office space in Tewksbury. The project’s fast-tracked schedule was tied to the required move out date of one of Mycronic’s existing offices. Cushman & Wakefield brought Erland on early in the process to assist with the due diligence and scheduling efforts to reassure the client’s needs could be met. The existing 102,000sf unoccupied building was transformed into 40,000sf of open office space as well as a 60,000sf assembly area. Designed with collaboration in mind, the new layout features several huddle and meeting areas as well as larger conference rooms. A cleanroom, specialty labs, and product testing and training areas were also constructed. Infrastructure improvements included upgrading both the electrical and gas service; requiring the installation of a new switch gear as well as rooftop units. This was Erland’s first time partnering with Mycronic.
