For this summer slammer renovation project, Erland worked simultaneously on two 100-year-old dormitories – LeBaron Briggs and Robert Winsor – on Middlesex School’s Concord campus. Scope included a complete gut/rehab of the interior of each dorm. Robert Winsor received a small addition to accommodate a new student common room. We installed all new MEP systems (converting from oil to gas), toilet cores, and sprinkler system. This project required some hazardous material abatement. To accelerate the schedule, a new slate roof and 150 new exterior windows were installed during the winter/spring semester while the buildings remained occupied. Brick repointing and hardscaping were done in the summer when the interior renovations were performed. In order to provide safe access to the dormitories, Erland created a temporary access road on campus. The site was returned to original conditions upon project completion.
