Chestnut Hill Realty teamed with Erland and The Architectural Team to grow their existing residential property in Brookline, MA with the addition of a 6-story, 197,375sf out-of-the-ground affordable housing apartment building. The John Adams Building is made up of a mix of 1- and 2-bedrooms totaling 127 units. Amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center, luxury clubroom, and roof deck with space for outdoor entertaining. The building itself is made up of 4-stories of wood-frame over 2-stories of podium. The first level features the main entrance as well as garage parking. The second level is an even split of garage parking and residential units. The brick exterior complements the existing homes in the Hancock Village community. Units feature high-end finishes. Additionally, a central chilling plant was installed on the roof to support the heating and cooling for the entire building. Situated in a park-like setting minutes from downtown Boston, Hancock Village is in an ideal location for modern living. Extensive sitework, including five months of blasting, was required to prepare for foundations and utilities.
