Formerly located in Canton, Massachusetts, Electrochem had outgrown its existing facility, and chose Erland to construct its new lithium ion battery manufacturing plant in Raynham, Massachusetts. Electrochem is a division of Canada-based Greatbatch, Ltd. Teaming with Maugel DeStefano Architects, Erland completed this project in just ten months. The new 82,000 square foot, 2-story building houses manufacturing space on the first floor and offices on the second floor. The new plant is more than twice the size of the Canton facility it replaced, allowing more space for administrative offices; more and bigger R&D labs and testing centers; and room to spare for future expansion. This building features a green roof, visible from the second floor cafeteria, and a dry room in the production area.
