The new Athletic Center expanded and improved on athletic facilities on the BCDS Campus. The new building is adjacent to the existing gym, which remained in use throughout construction. An Access Road Safety Plan was developed to provide for safe crossing and deliveries. The new Center houses two indoor courts for basketball and volleyball with a full size overlapping basketball court, as well as improved and centralized locker and shower facilities for team and everyday use. The building also includes a multipurpose fitness room, which can be used for wrestling or dance. Patrons enter the new Athletic Center from a renovated exterior plaza, which also provides access to the older gym. The glazed entrance and lobby area houses a gallery space that overlooks the new main gym. This Athletic Center was the second project that Erland and HMFH were selected to design and construct for BCDS.
