Quality Quality construction has been at the root of Erland’s success over the last 30 years. Setting standards, communicating expectations, and enforcing performance are all important to achieving desired results. Erland has a formal in-house project quality program that is communicated to our employees and our subcontractors and monitored by peer-review teams.
Erland’s comprehensive program hinges on three components: Mock-ups, Exceptions Log, and Corrective Actions Lists. |

Mock-ups
We will recommend a program of remote and on-site mock-ups for aesthetic and functional evaluation of key systems. We work with the Architect to determine the testing requirements for items such as flashings, air and vapor barriers, and roof details. Mock-ups eliminate miscommunications about standards and expectations.
Exceptions Log
Erland creates one single report of unresolved issues that is comprised of items we identify along with those submitted by the Design Team and our subcontractors. This report is reviewed and updated at weekly on-site job meetings to help us flag outstanding issues that still require attention. The Exceptions Log helps to keep the entire Project Team apprised and smoothes communications.
Corrective Action List
This is Erland’s punchlist, developed as each component of the project approaches closeout. By developing a punchlist for each trade as it nears completion of its work, we can oversee remediation while their personnel are still on-site. This process generally results in a shorter Architect’s Punchlist and a smoother project closeout. |
